Running Moorings
This kind of mooring is used for small craft (currently up to 14ft) on the Dart where the boat is tethered to a looped line running from the shore to a fixing in the fundus (river bed). The boat can be pulled in and out using the running line. Licence holder must provide the tackle and mounting.

Please note that Waiting Lists and Transfer Lists are in operation as moorings/berths are not normally immediately available.
‘Down River’ means the area that lies below an imaginary line drawn south west to north east, from the Higher Ferry to Higher Noss Creek. ‘Up River’ means the area above that imaginary line.
‘Down River’ Running moorings are located at:
- Dartmouth – Sandquay
- Dartmouth – North Embankment
- Dartmouth – Bayards Cove
- Dartmouth – Warfleet
- Dartmouth – Britannia Halt
- Dartmouth – Dart Valley Light Railway DVLR Fundus (Dart Harbour acts as agent to DVLR)
‘Up River’ Running moorings are located at:
- Dittisham
- Cornworthy
