Visitors' Moorings
Welcome to Dart Harbour in the beautiful South Hams. We hope you have a wonderful stay and will return to visit us time and time again.
Dart Harbour provides a number of prime moorings, both pontoon berths and swinging moorings, in the most desirable locations for you to use but to help us to find you a mooring or anchorage speedily please contact Dart Harbour on VHF Channel 11 call sign “DartNav” first before entering the harbour.
There are several mooring or anchorage options:
Visitor moorings are clearly marked VISITOR or V.
Visitors’ Dinghy Facilities can be found on the pontoon outside of the Boatfloat Entrance. The entrance to Dartmouth inner harbour, known locally as the Boatfloat, is just to the north of the town jetty. The pontoon is clearly marked with VISITOR or V.
As you enter the river with Dartmouth on your port hand and Kingswear to starboard you have the following options.
All charges (except Town Jetty) for vessels under 12 metres will be rounded up to the nearest half metre. Vessels over 12 metres will be rounded up to the next full metre length.
Location: Outside Dartmouth Yacht Club, South Embankment
Immediately above the lower ferry on the Dartmouth side
Charges are £1.00 per metre and Harbour Dues if applicable.
- Facility - Pontoon, water, limited electricity, connected to shore
- Restrictions - Vessels up to 9m, May-Sept only,

Location: Town Jetty
Dartmouth Town Centre
Charges are Mono Hull Vessels - Daily Rate
9m & under £10.00
9.1 - 12m £15.00
12.1 - 15m £20.00
15.1 - 18m £25.00
Multi-Hulls - Daily Rate
9m & under £15.00
9.1 - 12m £22.50
12.1 - 15m £30.00
15.1 - 18m £37.50
Outside of the Town Jetty is £1.00 per metre per night (£1.50 for multi hulls). Please note that the outside of the Town Jetty is used by commercial vessels and is therefore not available for berthing until 1700 and must be vacated by 0845 the following morning.

- Facility - Pontoon, Inside, electricity, water, walk ashore
- Restrictions - vessels up to 20m, available between 1700 – 0800 hrs - Outside of the pontoon, southern end avail between 1700-0845 hrs
Location: The Anchorage
To the starboard side of the yellow ships’ buoys
Charges are Harbour Dues only

- Facility - none
- Restrictions - No fee is payable for anchoring but Harbour Dues are payable at 60p per metre per day incl VAT 17.5% movement of ships may dictate availability, consult chart for ground tackle
Location: Large ships mooring buoys (yellow)

- Restrictions - by prior arrangement with the Harbour Master
Location: Dartmouth Island Pontoon DC – opposite Boatfloat
Charges are 60p per metre and Harbour Dues if applicable

- Facility - Island pontoon (close to Town Centre), no electricity or water
- Restrictions - Two vessels per berth, max length 12m, not available in regatta week
Location: Dartmouth Island Pontoon DA
Charges are 60p per metre and Harbour Dues if applicable
- Facility- Island pontoon (close to Town Centre) down river, Dartmouth side of Higher Ferry
- Restrictions - Two vessels per berth up to 11m, no electricity or water
Location: Deep Water Visitor Pontoon
Below Higher Ferry (mid river) east side
Charges are 60p per metre and Harbour Dues if applicable

Location: Stoke Gabriel Buoys
Charges are 60p per metre and Harbour Dues if applicable
