LNTM 07 2018 Head of the Dart Races

There will be two large individual events taking place within the harbour between Totnes and Dartmouth, with approximately 250 competitors on the water each day.

On Saturday 14 April, the ‘Head of the Dart Rowing Races’ will take place, starting at Dartmouth (just north of the higher ferry), from approximately 1430hrs BST, with vessels racing up the river and finishing adjacent to the Dart Totnes Amateur Rowing Club.  It is anticipated all racing will have finished by 1730hrs.

On Sunday 15 April, the ‘Head of the Dart Stand Up Paddle Board Challenge’ will take place, starting at Dartmouth (just above the higher ferry), from approximately 1345hrs BST, with entrants racing up the river and finishing adjacent to Dart Totnes Amateur Rowing Club. It is anticipated all racing will have finished by 1730hrs.

There will be various identifiable rescue boats and safety spotters on the shore situated along the course.  Each event has a nominated safety officer, details below:

All harbour users are requested to keep a good lookout.  Please give participating vessels and entrants a wide berth, keep your wash to a minimum and navigate with extra caution.
