Sunray 21 – “Maui”

The vessel is a standard, she is a Sunray 21 built during the 1970s. No hull number was seen.
The vessel was found in rundown condition externally and internally. , The linings were found in poor condition overall with timber degradation evident. The vessel has amateur installations of heating and electrics – the heating system, a diesel fired air blower system, was found in poor visual condition and was installed to a hazardous standard.
Externally, the vessel was found in very poor cosmetic condition, the decks were painted and cosmetically poor. Significant areas of flexibility were evident across the deck structures indicating significant suspected deck core failure. The vessels sails were found aboard, these were worn and stained, though still rigged.
The rigging was in poor condition with failed wired evident. The mast was steel standing. No engine was found fitted.
The vessels electronics consist of a Cobra fixed VHF radio – this in corroded condition. One Nasa depth sounder and a Nasa Speed log were found fitted, the Nasa instruments were weathered and misted up internally.
This vessel is being sold by Dart Harbour and Navigation Authority, due to non-payment of harbour dues. She does not come with a mooring and will need to be removed from the Dart following purchase. All enquiries to [email protected]
