Vida Neuva – 55ft ketch

£25,000 ONO

Vida Neuva is a one-off approx 55ft ft GRP flush decked ketch.

She is a substantial sized vessel, and could suit an owner looking for a live aboard or blue water cruising vessel, following a refit.

She should be seen as a project, and is sold and priced on this basis.

Built – Believed to be around 1979 in France

LOA – Approx 17m

Beam – Approx 4.2m

  • Flush decked, with central companionway and aft cockpit in an IOR style
  • Large central saloon with dinette, galley and navigation station
  • Two small twin bunk cabins forward of the saloon
  • Fo’c’sle accessed via either bunk cabin with small berth and storage
  • Two double aft cabins – not fully fitted out
  • Toilet compartment – aft portside.  Partly fitted.

Believed to be composite – Fibre Reinforced Plastic  on a timber framework.  Thick hull sides with a substantial core.

Deck FRP with non-slip paint finish, internally plywood.

Masts – anodised aluminium.  Main mast is keel stepped, Mizzen is deck mounted

Equipment has not been tested, and working order is unknown

  • Main, Foresail, Mizzen + 2x spare sails
  • Beta B-90 90hp 4 cylinder diesel.  Approx 10 years old.
  • VETUS bow thruster
  • Raymarine Chart plotter
  • NASA Marine AIS Radar
  • Lowrance DSC VHF Radio
  • Harken deck winches

The vessel is best considered as a project, with significant work required to bring her back to good condition.  Rigging, sails, engine, seacocks, bowthruster in particular are likely to need servicing and some renewal.  Overall structural condition appears reasonable, though there is some deformation of the deck, and we have not had the vessel structurally surveyed or lifted out of the water.

Below deck, the cabin sole needs replacing as it is apparently not of marine grade material and has failed in a number of places.  The galley is also not marine grade, and needs work.  There is some mould and decay below decks, but also areas that are in decent condition.

Vida Neuva is being sold by Dart Harbour due to non-payment of harbour dues.  She does not come with a mooring, and will need to be removed from the Dart following purchase.

She is lying at Noss, and can be viewed by appointment.
