Zoe was appointed to the Board in January 2017.
Growing up in Penzance, Zoe fostered an early love of the sea; and she joined the Britannia Royal Naval College as a Warfare officer in 1997. A hugely varied 17 year career both at sea and ashore, saw her in a variety of roles around the world; from Command of an inshore patrol boat on the west coast of Scotland to acting as a Flag Lieutenant in the Middle East. Retiring in 2014 as a Lieutenant Commander, her last appointment saw her back at BRNC, as both a Senior training officer and latterly as the First Lieutenant.
Zoe enjoys being out on the water in all its forms, she is lapsed sailor, rusty wind surfer and enthusiastic surfer. Along with her husband, Tom, she has kept a variety of motor boats on the river Dart for the past 10 years. They can be found messing about on boats every weekend in the summer along with their two sons. Zoe is the Chair of the trustees for a local charity, is a member of the RYA, RNSA and is STCW qualified.
