Ferries and Pleasure Boat Trips
Book tickets or ask advice on the services at the blue kiosks along the quay at Dartmouth for ferries to Dittisham and pleasure boat trips to Totnes and Greenway.
Two ferries
Two ferries operate daily all year between Dartmouth and Kingswear. The Higher Ferry disembarks cars to avoid entering Kingswear itself and the smaller Lower Ferry disembarks cars and passengers to the village of Kingswear.
January 2013 - Ferries Information
Please note that:-
The Higher Ferry is out of service for annual maintenance until 6th January 2013 when normal service will resume.
The Lower Ferry will be out of service between 7th January 2013 and 29th March 2013 for works to the Lower Ferry Slipway.

Lower Ferry - Car Ferry
Keep a good look out for two Lower Ferries that ply between Kingswear and Dartmouth, they comprise a tug and vehicle carrying float that is towed alongside the tug. They are restricted in their ability to manoeuvre and fly 'D' Flag. Do not impede the passage of the wire guided Higher Ferry that crosses the river just downstream of Dart Marina
Lower vehicle ferry (Kingswear to Dartmouth South Embankment)
The Ferry starts operating at 07:00 (08:00 on Sundays) and finishes at 22:55.
The double service Lower Ferry starts operating at 08:15 (09:15 at weekends) and finishes at 18:30.
Higher Ferry - Car Ferry
Normal Operating hours (when in service) are:-
Higher Ferry (Dartmouth North Embankment to Kingswear Britannia Halt)
Monday to Saturday 0630 - 2245
Sundays - 0800 - 2245
Regatta Week - Thursday to Saturday Inclusive 0630 - 2345

Higher FerryPassenger Ferry
The M.V. Kingswear Belle plies its trade between Dartmouth and Kingswear. It is run by www.dartmouthrailriver.co.uk. tel: 01803 834488
The M.V. Edgcumbe Belle is used as a relief Dartmouth - Kingswear ferry.
Castle Ferry - Passenger Ferry
Small, on demand, passenger ferry service operates from Easter to the end October between South Embankment and Dartmouth Castle. You will find a kiosk in front of Dartmouth Hospital and Fulfords estate agents on the Embankment. Tel: Julian Distin 01803 835034
Dittisham-Greenway Ferry
Greenway Ferry, - passenger ferry can be called on demand in daylight hours, to visit Dittisham and Greenway Gardens operates from the Pontoon at Dittisham to Greenway Quay runs all year except Christmas Day. Tel: 01803 882811, VHF Channel 10 call sign ‘Greenway Ferry'.
The Dittisham BelleDittisham Ferry
Distinctive red passenger ferry plies between Dartmouth to Dittisham. Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boats Tel: 01803 834488, VHF Channel 13, call sign ‘Dittisham Ferry’.
June - End August - every half hour between 1000 and 1700.
August - End October - 10.30, 11.00, 12.00, 1.30, 2.30, 3.30, 4.30.
