Landing & Slipway

Landings

Please follow instructions on all facilities as many have arrangements for a variety of visitor, resident and commercial vessels.

Dartmouth

There are three walk-ashore pontoon areas where tenders/dinghies (no more than 4.3m LOA) may berth free of charge for short periods

‘Green’ Pontoon (North Embankment)
  • Max LOA 4.3m
  • Berthing up to 12 hours
  • Dinghies/Tenders should not be pulled up onto the pontoon for safety reasons
‘Double Steps’ Pontoon (north of Town Jetty)
  • Max LOA 4.3m
  • Berthing up to 6 hours
  • Vessel skippers are requested not to obstruct the ‘Commercial Vessel’ pontoon immediately to the South
  • No return within 6 hours
  • During peak times extra temporary pontoons are installed
‘Dart Harbour Yacht Club’ Pontoon (seasonal)
  • Free berthing up to 2 hours (longer periods may be paid for in the Harbour Office)

Kingswear

Kingswear Dinghy Rack
  • Max LOA 4.3m
  • Berthing up to 6 hours
Darthaven Marina
  • Berthing up to 2 hours on the inside of the visitors pontoon

Dittisham

Dittisham Pontoon
  • Max LOA 4.3m
  • Berthing up to 6 hours
  • During peak times extra temporary pontoons are installed (max LOA 6m)
  • Please see signs on the pontoon

Stoke Gabriel

  • Berthing up to 6 hours
Stoke Gabriel Mill Point Pontoon
  • Only accessible from a height of tide at Stoke Gabriel (SG) of 2.3m (HOT at SG is generally between 0.3 and 0.9m lower than the HOT at Dartmouth) or less when access is possible via the foreshore (approx 2.5 hours either side of LW at the village (LW SG is 30-40 mins later than LW Dartmouth)).  Please see signs on the pontoon and take care along the foreshore to the village.

Slipways

Dartmouth

A public slipway is located in Dartmouth alongside the Higher Car Ferry.  Harbour Dues are payable to one of the River |Team on the water  or at the  Harbour Office.

Please note there is no parking or trailer storage, so this facility can only be used to “slip” and go with the aid of a vehicle driver.  At this time there is no facility to park a trailer in Dartmouth or to leave one at the Dartmouth Park and ride.

 Charges

Harbour Dues are payable for vessels using the river either  to one of the River Team on the water  or at the  Harbour Office.
