HARBOUR MASTER STANDS DOWN
Captain Mark Cooper is stepping down as Chief Executive, Harbour Master and Pilot of Dart Harbour and Navigation Authority. He will leave on 22nd September 2020 having led the Authority for nearly four years.
Mark has instigated significant changes in the way operations are managed on the river and has built a resilient operational team. He has improved stakeholder relations, customer satisfaction and the facilities on the river.
Captain Cooper said, “My priority during my time with the Authority has been first and foremost to keep river users and staff safe. I have also tried to make sure that everyone has fair access to the river and its facilities.
“I will miss the beautiful Dart and working with the staff. They are all passionate about what they do and should be proud of their achievements. I know they are held in very high regard by our stakeholders and customers alike.
“I hope that the changes we have already put in place and those planned will endure and that the next CEO/HM will enjoy this challenging role and be able to provide the long term stability the river needs.”
