LNTM 10-24 – Totnes Regatta & Wild Swim – 1st & 2nd June 2024

All Mariners are advised:

On Saturday the 1st and Sunday the 2nd of June, the Totnes & Bridgetown Royal Regatta is taking place.

The event will consist of multiple races throughout both days. The course stretches from the bottom end of the footpath at Home reach, with the finish line located outside of the Rowing club house. Please see the image below.

Saturday the 1st June

Rowing:

Racing is scheduled to start at 10:30 with crews launching shortly before. Racing is expected to continue until 16:30 where all crews should be off the water, however this may be pushed back if there are delays during the day.

Mariners are requested to take the advice from the safety crews, including holding off until clear, and direction from River Officers.

Wild Swim Race:

At approximately 14:45 there will also be a wild swimming race, leaving Totnes and heading down stream. There are two groups leaving at the same time, one group are finishing at Sharpham North Quay, and the other finishing at Ashprington Point.

The swim will be covered by a water safety team, using a variety of craft, however there may be swimmers along the route without a safety craft near them. Swimmers will either be wearing a red or yellow swim hat.

Mariners are requested to take the advice from the safety crews, and direction from River Officers, as well as proceed with extreme caution in the area during the event.

 

Sunday the 2nd June

Racing is scheduled to start at 11:00 with crews launching shortly before. Racing is expected to continue until 14:30 where all crews should be off the water, however this may be pushed back if there are delays during the day.

Mariners are requested to take the advice from the safety crews, including holding off until clear, and direction from River Officers.
