LNTM 20-24 – Paddle Steamer “Waverley” visiting the Dart – 31st August – 2nd September.
All mariners are advised:
The “PS Waverley” is a 73m ocean going paddle steamer. During the regatta weekend, she will visit the Dart for the first time since 1990.
Waverley will be arriving on Saturday the 31st August, under pilotage at approximately 16:30 onwards, heading upstream accompanied by PS Kingswear Castle. She will come to a stop in the Maypool area, whilst here, she will be turning with the assistance from Tugs and Dart Harbour vessels. Following her turn, she will be heading downstream and berthing on the outside of the Town Jetty, starboard side to.
Waverley is likely to be travelling at speeds in excess of 6 knots for her entire passage and is restricted in her ability to manoeuvre. She may create a significant wash. Harbour patrol craft will lead her, to give ample warning of her passage. All vessels are required to keep well clear, and follow directions given by Dart Harbour River Officers or the Pilot. Paddle boarders, swimmers and other small craft should allow additional clearance due to wash.
Note that there will be no mooring for leisure vessels on the outside of Town Jetty on Saturday or Sunday night.
The timetable below dictates her movements during her time here. As with her arrival, vessels in the vicinity during any movements will be required to follow directions given by the Dart Harbour Pilot and River Officers.
