LNTM 24-24 – Green Pontoon Removal
All mariners are advised that the Green Dinghy Pontoon, located on North Embankment in Dartmouth was damaged in the poor weather over the weekend, and now should not be used. It will be removed on Wednesday 10th October 2024.
All boats moored on this pontoon should be removed as soon as possible, and at the latest by 10:00 on 9th October.
No boats should moor or re-moor to this pontoon from now onwards.
Any boats still remaining after this point will be removed by Dart Harbour staff, and towed to the nearby Double Steps Pontoon. We will need to cut any chains / locks that have been used to secure boats. Note that we will not compensate for damage caused in this way, as the pontoon has clear signage limiting stays to 12 hours. We may need to move boats earlier if there is further damage to the pontoon.
Please take extra care when accessing the pontoon to remove your boat – there are additional trip hazards on the pontoon caused by ropes and chains holding the pontoon in place. If you do not feel comfortable accessing the pontoon, feel free to call the harbour office and we can move your boat for you.
We expect Green Pontoon to be out of service for at least 1 month whilst we prepare the replacement pontoon sections for installation. The adjacent Double Steps pontoon can be used in this period for stays up to 12 hours. We will monitor congestion on this pontoon, and may need to tow boats away that exceed limits.
