LNTM 03-26 – Rowing Events in the Harbour.

Multiple rowing events are taking place over the next couple of weeks on the Dart. Please see below for specific information.

Mariners are requested to take advice from the Safety Teams and any direction from Patrol Officers.

Dart Gig Club – Winter League – Saturday 7th February

Dart Gig Club are hosting their winter league, an event bringing together Gig Clubs from The Dart, Brixham, Salcombe, Teign, Paignton, and Yealm.

Racing is due to start at 09:30, and should be completed at approximately 15:30.

The course is pictured below, starting abeam of the fuel barge, heading upstream to the lower end of Noss on Dart Marina, turning to port, then back downstream with a finish just off from our DA Pontoon.

There are likely to be a maximum of 7 gigs rowing at any one time during races, but others may be afloat.

The Dart Harbour team will be contactable during the racing on VHF Ch11 “DartNav”.

UPRC Head Race (Duncannon to Totnes) – Saturday 14th February

The University of Plymouth Rowing Club are hosting a head race in the upper reaches of the tidal Dart, starting in Duncannon and finishing at Dart Totnes Amaturer Rowing Club (DTARC).

Racing is due to start at 11:00 with craft beginning to be afloat from 10:00. They are launching from the steps at DTARC, heading downstream to Duncannon for the start line.
