As part of our project to encourage river users to visit the upper reaches of the Dart, we are replacing the Stoke Gabriel Mill Point Pontoon, and have installed two new white visitors’ buoys have been installed off the entrance to Bow Creek.
Pontoon
The old Stoke Gabriel Mill Point pontoon will be removed tomorrow (17th April 2026) to allow the site to be prepared for installation of the new pontoon next week. The new pontoon will be of a more robust design, and will allow all-tide access to Stoke Gabriel.
Visitor Buoys
The new visitor buoys have been installed in the following locations:
- 50°23.90N 003°38.07W
- 50°23.86N 003°37.93W
These buoys are available for visiting yachts of up to 12m in length, and allow easy access to Tuckenhay by dinghy. They can be pre-booked by visiting www.dartharbour.org/visitors, or used on a first come first served basis.
Note that anchoring in the White Rock anchorage is still allowed, providing your vessel is clear of the buoys and the main channel.
