LNTM 20-26 – Classic Channel Regatta – 7th – 10th July

All mariners are advised that Dart Harbour is hosting the Classic Channel Regatta between Tuesday 7th of July and departing on Friday 10th of July.

Up to 90 Classic Sailing yachts of various sizes will be berthing with us, and heading out for daily racing in Start Bay. Mariners should be aware of the increased number of visiting vessels during this week, particularly when the race fleet are outbound or inbound from racing.

Visitor berthing in Dartmouth will be limited to the Kingswear Deep Water Island Pontoons, with the event taking priority on the majority of the walk ashore pontoons on the Dartmouth Side. Visiting vessels that are not part of the race fleet may be directed to move berths in the lead up to the event.

Taxi services are also likely to be incredibly busy, please allow extra time to get ashore or back to your vessel.

Mariners are advised of the following events:

  • Tuesday July 7th

Registration & Welcome day. It is likely that the harbour will be incredibly busy with vessels arriving on this day.

  • Wednesday July 8th

10:30 – Parade of Sail – the Classic Channel Regatta fleet, will depart their berths, and join a parade of sail. The classic yachts will queue on the Kingswear (eastern side) of the river, south of the Higher Ferry, turn and head down river outwards for their first day of racing. Please follow the directions given by the Patrol Team during this parade

12:00 – Dartmouth Classics Races – first start in Start Bay. Vessels will return when racing finishes.

  • Thursday July 9th

Time TBC (likely to be 13:00) – Classic Channel Regatta fleet depart for the race to St Peters Port.
