LNTM 27-26 – Underwater Operations – Darthaven Marina – October 2026

MARINERS ARE ADVISED that anchoring is prohibited within the area shown in the coloured section of the chartlet below.

This restriction is necessary to maintain clear and unobstructed access and egress for hopper barges operating within the area.

Vessels found anchored within the prohibited area will be towed clear, and the vessel owner may be liable for all associated towing and other charges.

Mariners are requested to observe this restriction at all times and ensure that the area remains clear for hopper barge operations.

Underwater dredging works are expected to take place within Darthaven Marina from Thursday 1st October. Works are expected to continue for around a month and expected to only take place between 07:00 and 19:00, Monday to Friday.

These works will also involve multiple, large hopper barges transiting between Darthaven Marina, to sea, and back again. These barges are self-propelled, and are around 44.1m LOA, pictured below.

There will be an exclusion zone in place, which is pictured below. Only vessels with permission from Dart Harbour or Darthaven may enter or remain within this exclusion zone – Fig1 below.

Within this exclusion zone, there are 3 exposed piles that are not within pontoons. These are marked as white triangles on Fig1 below and located at:
